Essentials for Cultural Event Management with Julia Gelezova and Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan
WHO IS IT FOR
This seminar is ideal for anyone beginning their venture into cultural event development and planning a new cultural event of any time scale and discipline. The seminar has been developed to be successful for a small group of participants, to be able to work with an expected large amount of information, learning from individual approaches and sharing feedback.
DESCRIPTION
Essentials for Cultural Event Management is an intensive 8 week seminar designed to inform anyone who is new to developing cultural events, looking at the practical and essential information required for the planning and execution of such events, regardless of size or discipline.
The seminar follows a practice based research structure of Information-Implementation-Assessment that applies to each session. After attending a session, the participant will apply the learnings over the course of the following week to their planned event. Progress will be assessed in a continuous way, addressing key issues and looking at potential problems. At the end of the seminar, the participant would have made substantial progress with their planned event and will be comfortable to develop it further, to put it into practice.
Sessions will include the presence of a guest lecturer to complement the extent of the learning process, and you can expect session formats like a panel discussion with professionals.
Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan will facilitate a seminar on value for creative entrepreneurs, teaching participants how to identify what makes them unique and vital, how to calculate the quantitive value of what they do, and how to effectively communicate these messages to potential collaborators, funders and supporters. Touching upon a range of topics, from creative identity to fundraising to copywriting.
