Project Development with Erik Vroons and Ángel Luis González

WHO IS IT FOR

This intensive workshop seminar is specifically helpful for emerging and mid-career photographers who need professional feedback and support on a body of work they consider ‘in progress’. The schedule has been devised to facilitate supervised and evaluated progress in your project.

DESCRIPTION

During this seminar, participants are invited to present works at all stages of development, whether at a starting point or nearly accomplished. Mentor Erik Vroons will work with all participants, collectively and individually, sharing his input to encourage positive progress of your project, and guiding you through all the steps towards a successful final completion.

During this seminar, Vroons addresses a wide range of issues concerning the practice of Photography as part of an Arts practice, and as a tool for documentary, based on his experience as picture editor at GUP Magazine. He will give valuable and to-the-point feedback in regards to how to approach an editor, how to customise a portfolio for a specific medium or platform, and much more. Finally, Vroons gives practical assignments to help you when applying for awards and grants, to shape the articulation of your creative ideas, and to improve your artistic voice.

The seminar is structured around 3 sessions: 2 full intensive days led by Erik Vroons, one milestone review session facilitated by Ángel Luis González, and a final session with Erik Vroons. Participants can expect to receive support via Skype by Vroons, and at The Library Project by González in between sessions.
