WHO IS IT FOR
A special seminar ideal for professional photographers looking to move beyond their current clients, practitioners looking to move into professional photography, either as a part time or as a full time occupation.
DESCRIPTION
During this seminar, instead of looking at photographs, the participants will be applying their photography to reach out and attract their audience. Instead of looking at the creative aspects of photography, the seminar aims to look at the market and business side of the industry. Photography Consultant and Curator at Noorderlicht, Marc Prüst will be looking, with all the participants, beyond notions of quality, asserting how effective the work may be in order to tell a story, to communicate a specific message. Concepts like Branding, Marketing, the Market Map, and others, will be discussed so that they can be incorporated into a business plan.
Get down to business, learn how to market your own work by creating demand: bring your works, an open mind, and come away with both a new perspective on the photographic market, and your own place in it.
The seminar takes place over 2 days: one afternoon and the following morning. During the first meeting the theory of the business and marketing plans are explained. The second meeting is used to put the learnings into practice and make an effective start with writing of both, the business plan and the marketing plan.
